Free lectures at Chichester Cathedral will look at controversial Bible characters
SOME of the most intriguing and controversial characters in Christianity will be discussed in a series of lectures.
Chichester Cathedral Chancellor, Canon Dr Anthony Cane, has spent eight years researching Judas Iscariot. Over four dates he will also look at Pontius Pilate and Mary Magdalene in free public lectures.
In each case he will be exploring what the Bible does, and does not, say about each of them; looking at some of the speculation that surround them and drawing out their contemporary significance.
The lectures are at 6.30pm in the cathedral nave, following Evensong on Monday April 18 and 25, and May 9 and 16. Question and answer sessions will take place in Vicars’ Hall at 6.30pm on May 23. Entry to the lectures and the Q&A is free and all are welcome.
