A LITTLE boy is one step closer to life-changing surgery thanks to kind-hearted Sallyanne Payer.

Five-year-old Lennon Beech needs stem cell treatment to help him regain some vision after meningitis left him blind, with global development delay, epilepsy and fluid on the brain.

We are thankful that she wanted to help up and do this for him.

His mum Donna Magee hopes the treatment in Thailand will help bring some of his vision back. But the operation costs £25,000.

To help boost funds Sallyanne, who heard about Lennon’s appeal through Facebook, decided to hold a fundraiser for him.

Today people went to Admiral Lord Nelson School to enjoy dance performances, stalls, games and other activities.

Donna, from Southsea, said: ‘We are really grateful to Sallyanne for putting this event on for Lennon.

‘We are thankful that she wanted to help us and do this for him.’

So far, the family have raised £18,000.

Donna added: ‘When Lennon was three weeks old he got meningitis, which caused a number of health problems.

‘We hope with the stem cell treatment some of his vision will come back but it is expensive so we have been fundraising a lot to raise the £25,000 needed.’

Sallyanne has been holding fundraisers for a number of charities and organisations for the last 15 years.

She heard about Lennon’s appeal and put her efforts into Sunday’s event.

Sallyanne said: ‘I am really happy with how it went and people seemed to enjoy themselves.

‘We had a performance from Fit and Funky, Battlefield South set up an assault course, there was classic cars from Solent Renegades and lots of stalls.’
