Chichester District Council has approved a draft plan to help with infrastructure funding across the area.

The plan will prioritise roads, flood defences, schools and doctor’s surgeries as top of its list of places that need development.

The decision came after the council wanted to see more infrastructure built to support new housing developments.

Council cabinet member for housing and planning, Cllr Susan Taylor said: ‘The council has worked very closely with parish councils and other authorities to ensure projects will be delivered in the right place, at the right time.’

The council will consider how the funding is spent and when it will be used in conjunction with other types of funding to pay for infrastructure projects.
