ALMOST 20 firefighters were called in the early hours of this morning to tackle a garage fire.

The blaze broke out in a garage, in St Andrews Road, Southsea, at 4am today.

Three fire engines from Southsea fire station and one aerial ladder platform with 17 crew members attended the scene.

The garage, which has been fire damaged, was storing wood.

Firefighters left the scene at 5.20am.

No one was injured.
