FIREFIGHTERS were called to a suspected gas leak in Southsea this morning.

A crew from Southsea were despatched to Albert Road, at the junction with Festing Road, at 9.45am.

A team from British Gas were already on the scene tackling the situation.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said a crew remain there this afternoon as a ‘precautionary measure’.
