A PLASTERING lecturer has been treated like a star on his final trip to work.
George Terry has taken a ferry from his Isle of Wight home and then cycled up to Highbury College in Cosham every day for 38 years.
Wightlink laid on tinsel, party poppers and free food for passengers for his last day.
Mr Terry was greeted with cheers as he boarded the catamaran, and was presented with a complimentary family car ferry pass on the bridge. He said: ‘It’s been a privilege and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.’
His colleagues then had him and his bike picked up in a limo at the port for the final stage of his trip to work.
