TEAMS of four people are being asked to get together and walk and pedal over water to raise money for an air ambulance charity.

The Pedal on Water and Walk on Water (Pow Wow) event has been organised by Rosemarie Norman to fundraise for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The event coincides with National Air Ambulance Week, which aims to raise awareness about the organisations.

Rosemarie, community fundraiser for the Portsmouth area, said: ‘We did this the year before last and it was enormous fun, and raised a great deal for the charity. We were only walking on water that year, but this year we will also be pedalling.’

The event takes place on September 30, on the Wightlink St Clare ferry between Portsmouth and Fishbourne in the Isle of Wight.

Teams of four take it in turns to walk on treadmills or ride on static bikes during a crossing. The last event raised £2,500.
