Gig split in two for more fun

A TRIO are putting on a charity music festival.

Sally and Neil Brooming are working with Polly Boulter to host Oxjam next week '“ raising cash for charity Oxfam.

Held at the Glasshouse at the Pyramids Centre, in Southsea, the event will run from 12 noon-11pm on October 13.

The Saturday gig is one of 30 Oxjam events taking place across the country.

Sally said: '˜It is great to be raising money for such a great charity and learning all these new skills.

'˜I am especially enjoying working with some of the city's fantastic local independent businesses who have volunteered their time, products and skills.'

From 12 noon-5pm Oxjam Music Festival will provide music and fun for families, with Rock Steady, Boogie Mites, Diddi Dance, The Young Creatives and singer Ellie Cant.

There will be a bouncy castle, local traders and face painting from Creative Capers.

A cake stall and craft stalls will also be on offer.

Towards the evening from 6pm-11pm the music festival starts, with Pie & Vinyl Records and Strong Island Recordings curating the line-up. Acts include Ban Summers, Superdrone, Highlights of our Modern World, Barbudo, Heebie Jeebies, Oh Sandau! and Lucid Rising.

Neil said: '˜We had so much interest from local bands interested in supporting the event, unfortunately there wasn't room for everyone.'
