POLICE are trying to trace the driver of a car who drove off after hitting a schoolgirl.

The 11-year-old was hit by a car’s wing mirror as it passed her by on Borough Road, Petersfield, around 5.15pm, Friday, January 9.

The vehicle was travelling close to the kerb and made off at speed towards Larcombe Road.

It is described as possibly an old style BMW or similar shaped vehicle and thought to have been driven by a man.

The girl suffered minor injuries.
