Glee as musical charity given grant

A MUSIC charity is delighted to have been given a grant of more than £14,000 from the Arts Council England.

The Urban Vocal Group received the grant as part of the charity’s new Breaking Through program aimed at supporting young musical talent.

UVG, which has groups in Portsmouth, Havant and Chichester, will put the £14,600 towards acquiring the help of established artists and industry professionals to its members.

Director of UVG Charlie Fletcher said: ‘This funding will help us deliver a programme of activities covering the creative and commercial aspects of the music industry.’

He said: ‘We’re so thankful to the Arts Council for their support as we seek to develop new and emerging talent.’

UVG is a music based charity which provides free singing and other music opportunities to young people aged 11 to 18.
