A CHARITY golf day is to be held to raise funds for record-breaking sailor Geoff Holt’s charity Wetwheels.

Entry is now open for the special event, which will be held at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel on September 5.

Geoff was the first quadriplegic sailor to sail solo across the Atlantic, and now runs a charity which helps other wheelchair-bound people experience what it is like to sail.

His boat, Wetwheels, is based at Gunwharf Quays marina.

He said: ‘So, why a golf day? Apparently you need a handicap to play, so that’s one thing in my favour!’

The event is being sponsored by Affinion International, a secure printing firm based in Farlington.
