MORE than £650 was raised to help the armed forces through the generosity of people in Emsworth.

Street donations during the medals parade of 58 Eyres Battery, from 12 Regiment Royal Artillery, Thorney Island, amassed £669.81.

The cash will go to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

Brendan Gibb-Gray, who helped to organise the parade last week, said: ‘It’s very good indeed.

‘It’s a tribute to the troops.’
