Roxanne Davis, 30, admitted rife tensions in her relationship with Samuel Davies, 24, over the biological dad of her son Stanley Davis.

Winchester Crown Court heard the admissions from Davis after she was arrested for the attempted murder of her baby on March 21, 2017, after he had been rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

He also suffered 32 fractures to his ribs and nine fractures to his arms and legs sustained during three separate occasions.

Davis, from Gosport but who now lives at Milton Road, Waterlooville, and Davies, of Mayfield Road, Southampton, are on trial accused of causing or allowing the death of the infant.

In Davis' police interview, read out in court by Richard Tutt, for the prosecution, she admitted the topic of Stanley's dad was a bone of contention in their volatile relationship '“ especially with her keen to find out who it was.

'˜He was upset when I said I need to find out who the dad is,' she told officers. '˜There were two men (who could have been the dad). I texted them both about it. But I got blocked by one while the other one didn't want to know.'

When asked by police if she saw Davies as a '˜long term fixture in Stanley's life, Davis replied: '˜I'm not sure he's ready (to be a dad) '“ he's just a kid himself.'

Davis added: '˜He would call me a 's*** and a s***' because I did not know who the father was.'

Asked if Davies had a temper, Davis told officers: '˜He does a bit'. But she said she couldn't '˜ask for more' in a dad.

The court heard how Davies had stopped taking his medication for ADHD and anxiety '“ with the mum saying '˜he's not calm and is a bit hectic if he's not on his medication'.

The mum also revealed she was struggling to come to terms with how her relationship with Davies had changed following the birth of baby Stanley. '˜Things haven't been the same since Stanley was born. All the attention is on Stanley,' she told officers.

During police interview, details emerged from hospital that Stanley had suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. When asked how this might have been caused, Davis said: '˜I don't know.'

She added: '˜I'll accuse everyone. If I find out how he got a bleed on the brain I will go nuts. Surely he would have screamed or something (if he was injured).'

Davis told police she thought Stanley '˜was not right' from the day he was born with him not eating much or having normal bowel movements.

The mum also accused the health professionals of failing her son. She told police: '˜He has not been feeding for the last week. He had weird eyes and was going hot and cold.

'˜I knew something was wrong with my boy but they would just send him away. He was making a weird a noise and was squeaking like he wanted to take a breath. He doesn't shut his eyes '“ he just looks at you.'

Meanwhile, in Davies' police interview, he said his girlfriend was struggling to adapt to changes in their relationship after Stanley was born.

'˜She would get jealous because I was doing the baby routine and not spending as much time on her,' he told police.

'˜One week after he was born Roxy was really down. She thought I didn't love her. I said Stanley's our priority now.'

He also branded her '˜sick' for posting a video of her son Stanley fitting on Facebook.
