IT WAS a busy night for firefighters who were called to rescue a person from a lift and to a fire in woodland.

The first call for the Gosport crew on Friday was at 6pm to Agnew House, St Vincent’s Road.

A lift had stopped before it had reached the bottom. Firefighters opened the door and helped the person out.

At 10.25pm a fire was reported at Trinity Green but it turned out to be a bonfire.
