This Gosport poker player is set to compete in Las Vegas tournament in 2019

Alan Ellis who plays at the Wvyern on Common Barn Lane has qualified for this year's VEGAS100 tournament, which will take place in the famous US city in May 2019. 

Mr Ellis is just one of 100 players to have qualified for the '˜once in a life time' competition in Las Vegas next year and he will be able to bring guests along with him to America. 

He will compete in the VEGAS100 tournament for the chance to win a slice of the £25,000 prize pool, with the winner taking home a grand prize of £8,000. 

The winner will also receive a £5,000 sponsorship deal for the year ahead and one player will also receive the title of Player of the Year during the visit to Las Vegas.

The players and their guests will have plenty of time to explore the city of Las Vegas during the week long trip in May next year. 

The competition, which is now in its thirteenth year, is organised by Redtooth Poker and is the UK's largest live pub poker league with more than 1,000 venues and over 200,000 players registered with the league since it was launched.

The 100 players chosen to take part in the prestigious event in Las Vegas secured their place in various qualifier events around the UK, and Redtooth Poker have given away over £270,000 in prizes to pub poker players throughout the year.

The VEGAS100 players and guests will have the opportunity to take part in an additional tournament with over $6,000 worth of prizes which includes a return trip to Las Vegas and a seat into a World Series of Poker event in 2020.

The 2018 VEGAS100 winner Tim Osborn will be travelling to Las Vegas to defend his title.

Mr Osborn has taken part in multiple events around the country this year at Grosvenor Casinos as part of his sponsorship prize and his yearly winnings to date total £10,000.

VEGAS100 is the culmination of a twelve month search to find the best pub poker players from around the UK and pit them against each other to find the best of the best. 

Redtooth Poker, part of the Redtooth group, is based at Barlborough in North Derbyshire. The company's 2018/19 poker league is split into four seasons spread over the year.
