GOSPORT is preparing to hold a huge family fun day next month.

The town will hold its sixth annual Big Day Out on June 2 at Stokes Bay and the High Street with even more activities than previous years.

This year its focus will be on family fun, heritage and culture, sailing and watersports, which means there will be plenty for all to enjoy.

At Stokes Bay there is a chance to roll in a Zorb ball for free.

And youngsters can get their face painted, go on a merry-go-round, test their strength and play in a golf challenge.

There will also be a Big Day Out information trailer and Treasure Trail quiz, with each entry going into a prize draw.

And for the first time in six years, the town centre will offer free 30-minute sessions in Charleston, swing, disco and street dance from 11am and 3pm at the Falkland Gardens.

A new information point in the gardens will also help direct people to attractions, including Gosport Ferry’s tour of the harbour.
