The freshly-painted corridors have been fitted with new carpets and a small area has been created for residents to relax in. The external garden area has also been extended and re-paved. New storage sheds have also been installed at the rear of Slocum House for those residents who use mobility scooters.

Chairman of the community board, Cllr Graham Burgess said: ‘It was a much-needed renovation completed on time and in budget and to cap it all the residents are delighted with the result. We couldn’t ask for more.’
