RESIDENTS have welcomed the refurbishment of their communal area.

People living in Alec Rose and Slocum House, in Gosport, are celebrating the completion of improvement work to update the communal areas and the outside of their homes.

Gosport Borough Council contracted Novus Property Solutions to refurbish the communal lounge at Alec Rose to create a bright, modern space for residents to use.

The freshly-painted corridors have been fitted with new carpets and a small area has been created for residents to relax in. The external garden area has also been extended and re-paved. New storage sheds have also been installed at the rear of Slocum House for those residents who use mobility scooters.

Chairman of the community board, Cllr Graham Burgess said: ‘It was a much-needed renovation completed on time and in budget and to cap it all the residents are delighted with the result. We couldn’t ask for more.’
