Pupils from Bay House and Brune Park schools went head-to-head at the Rotary Young Chef competition on Monday.

In an event organised by the Rotary Club of Gosport, students were asked to produce a two course meal for two, for under £15.

Winners from the Gosport competition would advance to the Portsmouth group competition in January 2019.

Rotarian Julie Edwards said: '˜There were a few disasters along the way but all the students produced some first class meals.

'˜This is to their great credit as most had not entered such an event before.

'˜It was great to see so many young people working so well together and the way that they helped each other in what is a challenging experience.'

Jan and Canon John Draper took the reins on judging, declaring Davina Harmen and Louie Sheldon from Bay House and Ethan Hill and Jenson Haywood from Brune Park as the winners.
