THREE fires were maliciously set off at a beauty spot.

Firefighters were called to Havant Thicket, which is a stretch of woodland and fields between Leigh Park and Rowlands Castle.

The call came in at about 3.40pm yesterday.

A crew from Havant fire station found three separate grass fires.

A hose reel was used to put out each blaze.

Youths are believed to have started the fires, which were put out in a matter of minutes.
