Burglar caught by police with stolen jewellery in rucksack

A GUIDE leader has stepped down from her post.

Division Commissioner Karen Malaure has looked after Gosport South Division for over five years.

Her friends and colleagues celebrated her dedicated service last week by holding a dinner especially for her at the Lee-on-the-Solent Golf Club.

Division President Laura Beal presented Karen with flowers, as well as theatre and garden tokens.

She spoke of Karen's dedication and hard work.

Karen said: 'It has been a real privilege to be division commissioner during the time of the Girlguiding centenary and I have been proud to lead the division through the challenges that were presented to us during this time.'

The incoming commissioner, Jacquie Needham, took over from Karen.

She said she was looking forward to the challenge that leading almost 700 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and adult leaders would bring.
