CHARITIES and community groups are being encouraged to sign up for a slice of a £375,000 fund.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation is helping charities through a website which doubles charitable donations.

By making a donation to a charity through localgiving.com donors can double their gift and add another 25 per cent in Gift Aid.

The fund starts from March 1 and will run until the £375,000 is fully allocated.

Several charities in the area have already signed up to the website.

Any charities who want to register with the scheme should email localgiving@hantscf.org.uk.
