Hampshire County Council warns people to cut down alcohol intake

HAMPSHIRE County Council is encouraging people to think about sensible drinking and how many units they are consuming each week as part of Alcohol Awareness Week.

Statistics show nearly a quarter of Hampshire residents drink above the safe recommended levels of 14 units of alcohol each week.

Councillor Patricia Stallard, the council’s executive member for health and public health, said: ‘With so many different drinks, bottles and glass sizes, it’s easy to get confused about how much is too much.’
