Have your say

I was delighted to see Adele hit top spot in the singles chart with Someone Like You, after her stunning performance at the BRIT Awards last week.

I did wonder whether the introduction of downloads into the charts would be a bad move for a chart purist like me, who grew-up with the Sunday evening Top 20 countdown. But, now the chart can truly reflect the popular choices of music as it happens.

It makes the whole music scene a more dynamic and vibrant place to be. Adele has also ended up being the first act with two albums and two singles both in the Top five since the Beatles!

Another result from the BRITs is Cee Lo Green wanting to work with his fellow Award winners Mumford & Sons.

The singer reportedly accosted the band in a corridor at the ceremony after seeing them perform with Bob Dylan at the Grammy Awards.

Olly Murs has apparently ‘exchanged contact details’ with Kimberly Wyatt from the Pussycat Dolls after they met at the BRITs. But the thing is, years ago – before mobile phones, giving someone your number could have been done in a really romantic way.

You could have whispered it in their ear, seductively as you left, or you could have written it inside a book of matches which you then slipped into their pocket.

But now, you just stare at your mobile concentrating really hard as you punch the number in. It’s not exactly very Casablanca is it?

Mind, you – it doesn’t matter. She’s never going to call a guy with that many stupid hats, is she? Wonderland, the band put together by Louis Walsh and Westlife’s Kian Egan, have revealed that they revamped their image ahead of their debut.

The group say they ‘cringe’ at pictures from their initial launch. They release their debut single Not A Love Song next month, which we are playing on Wave 105.

Beady Eye have been added to the bill of this year’s iTunes Festival.

The band, consisting of ex-Oasis stars Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, will play The Roundhouse in London on July 5 following their appearance over at the Isle Of Wight Festival in June.
