FREE training is on offer to people who would like to become running group leaders.

The scheme is called Run England and is open to keen runners in the Havant and East Hampshire areas.

Members can enjoy getting fit while having fun and making new friends in a safe, friendly environment. It is open to everyone, whatever their ability.

Kirsty Cope, from East Hampshire District Council, said: ‘To be a Run England leader the main ingredients you need are enthusiasm, being supportive of others, a bit of free time and some running experience.

‘Leaders are as varied as participants. They are all ages, paces, sizes, abilities and experience.’

A one-day training course, run by England Athletics, provides a qualification, leader’s licence and insurance.
