CHARITY group, the V Team has started its summer programme of making over gardens and painting community venues across Havant.

The group’s projects have included building raised beds at Lyndhurst House in Leigh Park to enable residents with limited mobility tend their own miniature gardens.

The V Team also hosted a coffee morning at the Havant Methodist Church during Volunteers’ Week.

Ina Allum, volunteer co-ordinator at Community First HEH, said: ‘It’s great to be able to make a difference in the community.

‘The V Team really enjoyed the gardening at Lyndhurst House and the coffee morning was a really good day too, with lots of visitors and we managed to sign up some new volunteers.

‘Volunteering is a great way to improve confidence, make friends and build your skills as well as benefit others in your community.’

The V Team is a charity which provides support to people who are unemployed, have a mental health issue or lack confidence.
