HAVANT confirmed their position as the top side in the county with an embarrassingly one-sided 55-7 victory over Basingstoke in the Gale's Hampshire Cup final at Down Grange.
They were on the attack from the first whistle, and the only question was how many points they would score.
The big surprise in the final scoreline was the seven points scored by Basingstoke at the very end.
Havant played most of the final 15 minutes with only 14 men after they had used all their replacements and skipper Jon Barfoot was then injured.
PETERSFIELD ended up losing a cup final they could and almost should have won when Alton staggered home 16-8 winners of the Gale's Hampshire Bowl Final.
