A MAN killed on a busy dual carriageway has been named by police.

James Attwood, 30, from Havant, was killed when he was hit by a lorry on the A31 Hog’s Back, near Puttenham in Surrey, just after 10am last Thursday.

He sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following the collision.

A statement from the police said: ‘The victim of a fatal collision on the A31 Hog’s Back last week has been identified as 30-year-old James Attwood from the Havant area of Hampshire.

‘Mr Attwood died after being struck by a lorry on the carriageway near Puttenham on Thursday morning (September 11) just after 10am.

‘An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.’
