PEOPLE in Havant are the happiest in the area, a survey has suggested.

People in the area rated their happiness as an average of 7.5 out of 10 – above the UK average of 7.29.

People were asked to rate the questions from 0-10, where 0 was ‘not at all’ and 10 was ‘completely. They were also asked about life satisfaction and anxiety.

In Portsmouth, the average was 7.14, while it was 7.39 in Fareham and 7.29 in Gosport.

The survey, by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) took place between April 2012 and March 2013.
