Hawks are confident ahead of Salford City's visit

Lee Bradbury surveyed Salford City's trip to the Hawks on Saturday and insisted: We go into the game with confidence. Â

The visitors have had a high profile since former Manchester United stars Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt '“ who were part of the iconic Class of '92 at Old Trafford '“ became part-owners in 2014.

The quintet, alongside co-owner Peter Lim, have invested heavily into the club, yielding three promotions in four seasons.

Salford are the bookmakers' favourites to win the National League title this campaign, having topped National League North last term.

After a stuttering start to the season, the Ammies have delivered back-to-back victories over Halifax and Chesterfield.

Nevertheless, Bradbury is relishing the chance of taking on Salford.

The Hawks head into the clash after their first win of the campaign at Braintree last weekend '“ and are aiming for a maiden National League success at Westleigh Park.

The manager said: '˜Salford are obviously going for it with lots of backing both on and off the pitch.

'˜They have recruited an experienced manager and players.

'˜They came up into the league like us and it has all of the makings of being a good game.

'˜We will have been boosted by getting the first win under our belt.

'˜So far this season we have performed well at home without getting the results we deserved.

'˜I believe we can go into the game with confidence while at the same time recognising the threat Salford will pose.'

Bradbury accepts the Hawks need to be better defensively if they are to secure a first home win.

His side have conceded seven goals in their past two matches.

The hosts are hoping to have the experienced Paul Robinson available again.

The centre-back missed the Braintree victory because of family reasons.

'˜It would be nice to have his experience in the side but we still have to wait and see,' added Bradbury.

'˜We have to stop giving away sloppy goals.

'˜The aim has to be to play low-risk football at the back and concentrate on keeping a clean sheet.

'˜If you switch off at this level then you are going to get punished.

'˜This has been shown in our past two games. We would be a lot better off points wise if we had defended properly.

'˜It is a new level for us and the players are learning quickly what is required.

'˜We have shown that scoring goals is not a problem. We just have to shore things up at the back.'
