COMPANIES are being asked to sponsor a very special kind of children’s party.
Malcolm Drew, the organiser of the annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, is hoping to attract celebrities to the bash.
Each year around 200 children are invited to the party, which is held for those that have been affected by long-term illness.
Now in its 11th year, Malcolm, of North End, Portsmouth, wants to make the party bigger.
He said: ‘I have wanted to take the party up a level and try to book some celebrities to come along.
‘It’s already a brilliant event, but if we could get a celebrity then it would be the icing on the cake.
‘It would be special for the children if acts like Jedward or Stacey Solomon from the X-Factor could come along.
‘But their fees go into thousands of pounds.
‘I’m hoping companies will come forward to sponsor a celebrity to come along.’
