GOVERNORS are needed to provide a link between a health trust and the community.

Solent NHS Trust is inviting people to join its board of governors as it carries on with its bid to attain foundation trust status.

Fourteen public figures are being sought after, who will have duties such as appointing and removing the trust’s chairman and non-executive directors.

The governors will be joined by five staff governors and six appointed governors from the trust’s partner organisations.

Company secretary Rachel Cheal said: ‘We’re looking for more committed people who want to get involved and influence our services to benefit the wider community.’

People in the Portsmouth area can find out more at workshops being held at St James’ Hospital, Locksway Road, Milton, on the following dates and times:

April 25, from 1pm to 3pm.

June 20, from 10am to noon.
