PORTSMOUTH’S hospitals trust is to host a conference about a chronic form of arthritis this weekend.
The event is aimed at helping patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) – which is an inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune condition that mainly affects joints in the spine and pelvis.
The conference will offer patients, their families and health professionals the chance to find out more about the condition, speak to local and national charities that help support sufferers, and speak to specialist consultants.
The conference will take place on Saturday at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth, from 9am. It is the first time Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust’s rheumatology department has hosted the event.
To attend call the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society on 020 8948 9117.
