PEOPLE are being encouraged to sign up to a two-hour session that teaches them more about dementia.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day and the charity Alzheimer’s Society is hoping more people will become a dementia friend.

In Hampshire 10,105 people are registered, and the charity wants to get more. It’s also one of the aims of The News’ Take Care Together campaign.

We want to double the number of dementia friends in the Portsmouth area, raise awareness of dementia and ensure no patient or carer feels alone.
