VOLUNTEERS are needed to help a new group offer support to people fighting cancer.

The Havant and Emsworth fundraising branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care has been started by Julie Robinson, Lucy Watson and Mike Rogers.

Julie said: ‘Everyone in the group shares the same vision – to provide high quality care to terminally ill people, for free, in the local community.

‘Equally, the group all want to enjoy their time fundraising together, with much fun and laughter along the way.’

Wendy Savage, a community fundraiser for Marie Curie, said: ‘Fundraising groups play a vital role in helping us to deliver more care in the local community.

‘It is heart-warming to know that so many people want to get involved and help is to continue our work and we are very grateful to all those involved.’

The first event is a collection in Havant on October 19 and 20.
