RECOGNITION has been given to a cancer care centre for the environment it provides to patients.

The CancerPartnersUK South Downs Centre, in Bartons Road, Havant, has been awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark.

The centre, which provides cancer treatment such as radiotherapy, scored highly as it proved it made great use of space to provide comfort, good atmosphere, good personal and social interaction and privacy.

Consideration was also given to things such as the greeting people receive when they go into the centre, the quality of communications material and the availability of quiet, private rooms.

Centre manager Julie Warner said: ‘We are very proud to have been awarded this mark as it reflects the dedication and commitment of our staff to patients, as well as the high standards of treatment we provide.’
