THE first city-wide dress down day is being planned to help a 13-year-old boy get life-changing treatment in America.

Sara and Joseph Findlay are fighting to raise £50,000 to pay for their son Daniel to have treatment to help his cerebral palsy.

To raise funds the parents are trying to recruit as many schools and businesses across Portsmouth as possible to take part in Dress Down for Daniel day on May 27.

Mrs Findlay, of Albert Grove, Southsea, said: ‘It would be just fantastic to see the city come together and take part in this really simple fundraising event. By donating just £1 each to wear their own clothes they could make a huge difference to my little boy’s life and give him the opportunity to achieve his dreams.’

Schools and businesses are also encouraged to hold cake sales and raffles on the day.
