Oasis Dental Care has raised an incredible £45,000 for charity after a day of fundraising dubbed ‘Super Saturday’ recently took place across hundreds of its dental practices, including two practices in Portsmouth and Waterlooville.
The day saw 20 per cent of all profits made being donated to both Bridge2Aid, Oasis’s national charity, which provides essential dental care to poverty-stricken children across the developing world and also to local charities.
From cake bakes to raffles, staff nationwide also took part in additional fundraising activities in aid of a wide range of local charities.
In Portsmouth funds were also raised for Alzheimer’s Society, while Oasis Dental Care Waterlooville supported Rowans Hospice.
Staff at the local practices took part in various fun activities during the day, including free face painting for kids and a raffle. Staff at some of the practices also dressed up in fancy dress to complete the party atmosphere.
Practice manager at Oasis Dental Care Portsmouth, Gill Durman, said: ‘We’re really pleased that so many people turned out to help support these fantastic charities. It goes to show that dental practices are an important part of the community and it’s been great to support both Bridge2Aid and local charities.’
Justin Ash, CEO of Oasis Dental Care, added: ‘We are thrilled with the success of our Super Saturday fundraiser which has saw us raise a large sum of money for a number of charities.
‘We have a vested interest in improving access to quality dentistry, no matter the individual’s circumstance, and this is in particular why we chose to give something back by supporting Bridge2Aid as our national charity.
‘However, it’s important to remember that charity starts at home which is why our practices also chose local charities to support.
‘Each dental practice is an important part of their community, and events like this help bring people together whilst helping others.’
