PEOPLE are being encouraged to say thank you to their health heroes by a senior doctor.
Dr Janet Maxwell, director of public health for Portsmouth, will once again be joining the judging panel for this year’s Best of Health Awards 2015.
She said: ‘It’s excellent The News is running this award programme again this year.
‘There is so much great work going on which we need to celebrate.
‘These awards are a pleasure to be a part of.
‘Hearing some of the stories of workers who truly go above and beyond to help a patient is inspiring.
‘This is a chance to thank the dentists, pharmacists, carers, mental health workers, community teams, nurses and doctors who have made a difference to our communities.
‘By nominating them, you will help ensure they know what they do day-in, day-out is not only recognised but really appreciated by their patients.
‘I encourage you to take a moment to tell us about those individuals or teams who go further than their normal day-to-day duties to help residents and their families live healthier lives.
‘I’m looking forward to judging the submissions and celebrating the successes of all the organisations which deliver excellent healthcare services in the Portsmouth area.’
