Dress pink for charity walk along Southsea seafront

WALKERS will be dressed in pink as they support a fundraising campaign.

Sharon Forder is once again holding her Pink Walk to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

The three-mile walk from Canoe Lake, in Southsea, is taking place this weekend and Sharon is hoping to add to the £26,000 she has raised so far.

She said: ‘We are all so proud of how much this event has raised.

‘We just cannot wait to add to that total and hold this walk again this week.’

Sharon, who is an area manager for Avon, started organising the event as part of the company’s national campaign for October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Several years on, it is a date on many people’s calendars. Participants enjoy getting dressed up in pink and finding pink accessories to complete their outfits.

The walk starts at 10.30am and heads towards Clarence Pier before going back to Canoe Lake for activities afterwards.

Sharon added: ‘The staff at the Canoe Lake cafe are kindly offering support for the event with a raffle and cakes.’

The charity walk on Sunday is free and children are welcome to join.
