Event shines a light on disabled support in Portsmouth

AN EVENT is being staged to shine a spotlight on the city's services supporting disabled children and young adults.

Portsmouth Parent Voice is launching its fourth Local Offer Live event tomorrow.

The day is designed to offer families a chance to find out about all the organisations throughout the island supporting young people and children with special needs and disabilities.

This year’s day is being staged at the Miltoncross Academy, in Cotton Road, Milton.

There will be more than a dozen charities in attendance, including the likes of Portsmouth Disability Forum, Enable Ability, Pompey in the Community, Dynamite, and Portsmouth Autism Support Network.

As well as this, there will be food and refreshments and a host of craft exhibitors.

Firefighters from the city are also expected to turn up to the event – with a fire engine in tow.

The day is taking place from 10am to 3pm. For details, call Barbara on 07712 439159.
