Fareham MP meets with GPs to talk about healthcare future

Fareham MP Suella Fernandes met with GPs and the Patient Participation Group at Brook Lane Surgery on the future of its services and what it offers patients.

At the meeting, GPs talked about strains on services that could arise from new developments in the area and Miss Fernandes agreed to raise the concerns with Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Miss Fernandes said: ‘I had a constructive meeting.

‘I would like to thank Paul Lardner, chairman of the Patient Participation Group, and Mel Watson, practice manager, and the resident GPs for their time to discuss challenges facing healthcare.

‘It is important that new housing is supported by sufficient healthcare facilities and I will be raising this with Fareham and Gosport CCG.’

GPs also raised the need for a new bus stop at Fareham Community Hospital, adjacent to Brook Lane Surgery, which could also be use by patients of the surgery.

Miss Fernandes is currently running a campaign to reinstall a bus stop and is urging residents to sign her petition by emailing their support to [email protected].
