FIGURES from the NHS show that Queen Alexandra Hospital was the worst performing in the south for waiting times over the winter months.
The hospital has come bottom of the league for the number of patients who have a total time in A&E over four hours from arrival to discharge, transfer or admission.
An average of 77 per cent of people were seen at the hospital, in Cosham, within four hours from November 3 until yesterday.
This compares to 79 per cent across all the Portsmouth NHS Trust sites.
The worst month for the hospital was February, which saw fewer than 65 per cent of people seen within four hours.
Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset were the best performing hospitals across the same winter period.
All three hospitals were close to the target of 95 per cent.
Eighty-one per cent of patients at Southampton General Hospital were seen within four hours.
