PEOPLE are being invited to find out more about plans to pool millions of pounds to spend on better care for the elderly.

Portsmouth City Council and the Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have joined forces to develop the £16.8m Better Care programme to better integrate health and social care services to help more people to stay healthy and independent for longer.

An information day takes place on Thursday, October 2, at St James’ Hospital, in Locksway Road, Milton, and will also mark the beginning of a six-month countdown to the start of the scheme in April.

As well as finding out more about the Better Care plans in Portsmouth, those attending the event will be able to contribute to discussions about shaping services, and register to be involved in consultations and receive updates as the programme develops in the city.

If you would like to attend, email or call (023) 9284 1024.
