THERE is still chance to book your place at a fundraising event for businesses to pledge their support to ending polio.

Niall Fry, a former monitoring officer with the World Health Organisation, will be the guest speaker at Rotary Club of Havant’s event tomorrow at Havant’s Public Service Plaza.

The club has been working with the United Nations Association to help put an end to the disease, which has recently resurfaced in Syria.

Every penny raised will be tripled by Bill Gates, a supporter of the polio eradication programme through his charitable foundation.

Viv Williams, chairman of the UNA, said: ‘We have an excellent speaker through the World Health Organisation, a UN body, who has worked on the polio eradication programme and visited many of the countries concerned.

‘We’d love to see as many people as possible there.’

The event starts at 6pm for 6.30pm.
