A CANCER charity is inviting people to join its team in this year’s Great South Run.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is asking people to join the Daffodil Team.

The Great South Run takes place on Sunday, October 28, starting in Southsea.

The 10-mile route weaves around the streets of Portsmouth and takes in sights such as the Historic Dockyard.

General entries for the 2012 race are now sold out.

But you can still get a charity place by joining the Daffodil Team.

The charity will support runners with fundraising tips and online fundraising information.

As part of the Daffodil Team, people will receive a complimentary Nike Dri-Fit running vest and a training guide with top tips on setting goals, stretching and warming up, running logs and more.

Money raised from the runners will go to the charity, which provides end-of-life care for terminally-ill people, either in their own homes, or in one of nine hospices nationally.
