A DOCTOR has rated a learning disability service in Hampshire as excellent.
Between April and June this year, a review of the Learning Disability services, which provides support to adults with learning disabilties, took place.
The service is run by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The review included meetings with staff and people who use the service, as well as a review of literature including clinical maps, financial plans, business models and training documents.
Professor Michael Kerr, from the Institute of Psychiatric Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences, said the service was excellent and at times ‘world class’.
Lesley Munro, divisional director for the service, said: ‘We’re delighted with the outcome of this report, which is testament to our hard working, skilled and experienced staff working in Hampshire.
‘We’re grateful to Professor Kerr for his review.’
