DOCTORS have joined forces to urge older people to keep warm during winter.

The message comes from doctors Jim Hogan, David Chilvers and Barbara Rushton – the three GPs who lead the clinical commissioning groups which plan health services for people across Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport and south-east Hampshire.

Advice includes drawing curtains at dusk and keeping doors closed to block out draughts, having regular hot drinks and eating at least one hot meal a day, wearing several light layers of warm clothes and keeping as active as possible.

If you’re worried about a relative or an elderly neighbour, call the Age UK helpline on 0800 009966.
