AN AMBULANCE trust that serves Hampshire has won an award for its fleet of vehicles.

South Central Ambulance Service (Scas) was crowned winner in the Large Public Sector Fleet of the Year category at the Fleet News Fleet Van Awards.

Now in its fifth year, the awards set the benchmark for the light commercial vehicle industry, with trophies for manufacturers, operators and suppliers.

The awards focus on safety and commending those who display a passion for keeping their drivers safe and their vehicles accident-free.

Judges said: ‘Scas continues to be one of the safest blue light fleets in the country.’
