A HEALTH trust’s success in helping more people receive better urgent care in their own homes has been recognised with a prestigious NHS prize.

One Call One Team, which is run by health officials and other organisations, has won the KSS NHS Award for Outstanding Collaborative Leadership at the Kent Surrey and Sussex NHS Leadership Awards.

It was the first of two awards won by the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which runs St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.

The Trust board received the KSS NHS Governing Body of the Year accolade and chairman Mike Viggers collected the prize on behalf of the organisation’s 6,500 staff.

He said: ‘I truly believe that patients are first and foremost in everything we do and all our staff should be very proud.’

One Call One Team and the board will now go through to the NHS National Leadership Awards.
